Product details
The olive tree, officially known as Olea europaea, is the oldest known cultivated tree in history. With its silvery foliage, gnarled trunks, and fragrant white flower clusters in spring, these distinctive trees are a beautiful focal point in the garden year-round. It is an evergreen tree that adds a Mediterranean touch to your garden or balcony. Olive trees are very hardy, making them ideal for colder regions. And of course, the tree also produces real olives.
Care
Olive trees are perfect for any garden. You can plant them in pots and place them on the terrace, or they can be planted directly in the ground. Olive trees prefer a sunny location and do not like wet feet. Therefore, when keeping the tree in a pot, always ensure that the pot has drainage holes at the bottom. Water the Olea regularly in spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary at first but can be best done in early spring or autumn (around October). Before the olives are produced, the Olea blooms in spring with small cream-white and yellow flowers. After flowering, green fruits (or drupes) develop. The olives can be harvested while they are still green or after they have fully ripened in late autumn, depending on how you wish to use them.
