Test Report

8 fully automatic coffee machines tested

Anyone who wants to afford a fully automatic machine is undoubtedly one of the passionate coffee connoisseurs and expects high quality in the cup day after day for their investment. The clear recommendation of our test engineers is to buy a Cafe Romantica from Nivona. This machine combines easy and convenient handling with very good functional performance, leaving most of the tested competitor products far behind. The results in the functional test are somewhat less divergent: none of the models achieved a sub-score worse than "good". After winning the test, the Intelia from Philips, which is considerably less expensive, impresses with the second-best functional score, in that it delivers coffee at a good temperature and is also ready to use quickly. In addition, the machine offers a wide range of speciality coffees, catering to a wide variety of tastes. The PrimaDonna S from De'Longhi also makes life easy for its user with their favourite hot drink at the touch of a button, while some other candidates require a little more dexterity. For example, the Krups, Melitta, Privileg and De'Longhi Magnifica machines require the milk to be frothed and added to the coffee by hand.
