17 Smoke detector 01/2021

From January, smoke alarms will be compulsory throughout Germany. A smoke detector can save lives. Provided it is placed correctly and functions optimally. With a loud alarm, it prevents a fire from going unnoticed and residents from suffocating in their sleep. In the Stiftung Warentest smoke detector test, 17 devices competed, including those from Busch-Jaeger, Ei Electronics and Hekatron. 13 smoke detectors performed well, including stand-alone and wireless devices. Some are a little sensitive, one warns too late - poor.
