The freezer PC: our refrigeration circuit is alive!

Bernhard Vetsch of ThermodynamX is building a refrigeration system into a PC. With freezer cooling, he wants to constantly cool the Threadripper 3970X processor beast to 20 degrees Celsius. Today he started up the modified PC for the first time.

First tests show: the circuit is doing its job. With 300 watts of thermal power, it cools an artificial CPU to -20 degrees Celsius. Cooling expert Bernhard Vetsch converts cooling to the real CPU – and starts the PC for the first time. See that and more in the video.
