Christ and ASUS join Galaxus marketplace
Galaxus marketplace has been open to retailers in Germany for a year. The online shop has recently gained new partners, including jeweller Christ, notebook manufacturer ASUS and furniture store Beliani.
Galaxus’s selective merchant programme gives partners the opportunity to sell their products under their own brand name on galaxus.de. Partners such as Christ, ASUS, Beliani and sports retailer Ballsportdirekt.de have recently joined Galaxus marketplace.
Galaxus launched its marketplace in Germany in January 2023. Around 200 retailers have already signed up. By selling their products on Galaxus, retailers benefit from a wider audience. At the same time, Galaxus is able to offer its customers a broader selection across all categories.
New partners, new products
The addition of jeweller Christ to the merchant programme has brought 10,000 new products to the range, including watches, smartwatches and jewellery. Furniture store Beliani, notebook manufacturer ASUS and sports retailer Ballsportdirekt.de have also given Galaxus marketplace a boost, bringing tens of thousands of products to the range.
The team behind the project are pleased with its progress: «Our German marketplace has got off to a successful start, and we’ve been able to gain some initial market experience with our partners,» says Simon De Toffol, Business Engineer at Galaxus. «Now that the introductory phase is over, we’ve shifted our focus to sharpening our acquisition strategy and continuing to grow successfully by adding new partners.»
The marketplace is a key pillar of the strategy to make galaxus.de one of the top five online shops in Germany. Galaxus, which has Swiss roots, already attributes a large part of its success to the merchant programme – around a third of its total product range comes from marketplace retailers. «Our marketplace process is very selective,» explains Simon. «We emphasise quality over quantity. We want to sign relevant partners who have relevant product ranges. Partners who dislike the chaos and deluge of products found on other platforms.» Galaxus demonstrates this to customers and partners through its unique selling points, such as price transparency and its lively Community.
