Microsoft Surface Dock
Docking port (proprietary), 8 Ports
I thought the DP Alt Mode was only available for USB C. But since the dock has 2 Mini Displayport ports, I'm not sure what the question is about...
According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro 8 should be compatible with this docking station: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/surface/ermitteln-ihres-surface-docks-und-der-zugeh%C3%B6rigen-features-591c07f4-2784-24cf-6445-6fa059237461
I connected it via mDP to DP (v1.4) and the result is that the picture is "distorted". None of the many setting options have done anything for me. The screen I am using is the BenQ EX3501R. I therefore contacted BenQ's Tech Support yesterday. Let's see what they think.
The 3.5mm port is not optical. It is a normal headphone output. There are no optical outputs. It may be possible to upgrade via USB...
I have the part abroad, so I can't check; from memory: The part is very close to where I set up the Surface Book and has the cable rolled up in a few loops; I estimate the length to be about 1m to 1.20m at the longest.
The docking station only has two mini-DP connections. For HDMI you still need an adapter (must be an Active Adapter). Recommend the one from Microsoft Microsoft Mini Display Port to (HDMI, 23cm) or from Club 3D Club 3D Active Mini DisplayPort to (HDMI, 15cm).
Unfortunately, this docking station is not compatible with the older Surface models as they have different connectors.
According to our information, we unfortunately do not offer this separately.
This has nothing to do with the Surface dock. If you are using the Unify receiver for your Logitech mouse/keyboard, you can "programme" it yourself. Contact logitech support or use google for the necessary steps.
You need the Power Supply Model 1749, not only a cord. The cord is attached to the power suply.
Thank you for the information about the solution, we also have the model of the cable in 1.5m length in the rangePurelink Cable ULS Cert. 4K High Speed Mini DisplayPort - HDMI, 1.5 m (1.50 m, DisplayPort)
Does the behaviour occur with the laptop closed or open (or both)? The dock only has a limited resolution it can provide, perhaps this is exceeded with the external screen plus the laptop screen.
It has two mini display ports. Either an adapter: Delock Mini DisplayPort to (HDMI, 18 cm) or a direct cable: Lindy Mini DisplayPort - HDMI (Type A) (1 m, DisplayPort, HDMI)
Unfortunately no answer to that, don't have it with me yet.
It works perfectly for me with the Pro 8.
Yes, any USB-A can be adapted to USB-C with an adapter. This actually has little to do with the dock, but with the USB specification. I operate external USB-C SSDs with the dock. You need a cable or adapter for this: USB-A to USB-C.
Hello, Yes, it is compatible with my Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 8 and Surface Book 3.
Hello Unfortunately, I can't quite imagine what you want to do. If you want to connect the Surface docking station to an Ubiquiti switch, you need an Ethernet cable: digitec Ethernet patch cable RJ45 (S/FTP, Cat. 6a, 3m) If you mean something else, try to be more specific. Regards
No, it should work. The monitor input is set to Displayport? (Some monitors do not switch automatically). Plugged into the correct Displayport? (Monitors that support daisy chain also have a display port out; it doesn't work there). Is the cable plugged in correctly? (Some cables are a bit stiff)
The Surface Dock has no influence on the resolution of the monitor. What is displayed is what the graphics card of the Surface delivers. If the monitor has a higher resolution than the Surface (in my case the Surface delivers 2'736 x 1824), a black border is displayed. Surface Dock is like a pass-through device. What comes in is output.
Yes, everything is included. You don't have to buy anything else
Hallo, nein, diesen funktioniert. Microsoft Surface Dock 2 (199W, USB Typ C, USB A)
The Surface is connected through the SurfaceConnectTM cable. (This is the port where normal charging is done) The Mini-DP refers to the ports in the Dockins station.
